Squash coachTomi Niinimäki

The first week of group and personal training sessions has successfully wrapped up, and now it’s time to introduce our awesome and highly experienced coaches!

This week, most of the sessions were led by Tomi, and for those of you who aren’t yet familiar with his background, here’s a bit more about him:

Tomi is an experienced squash coach who has shared his passion and dedication to the sport for over 20 years. During this time, he has worked with players at all levels—from beginners to professionals, and from children to seniors. His trainees include world-class players like Simon Rösner (PSA career-high rank 3, European and World Games champion), Olli Tuominen (PSA 13 and European champion), and Raphael Kandra (PSA 13 and European Championship bronze medalist).

Throughout his long and diverse career, Tomi has worked in Finland, Germany, the USA, and Australia. Currently, he divides his time between three countries: Finland, Estonia, and Sweden, where he serves as a senior advisor for national teams.

Tomi’s first week of training in Tallinn left him with a great impression. He reconnected with old friends and met many new and enthusiastic squash players. He sees that the new club has quickly attracted many new players, and the courts are rapidly filling up. According to Tomi, Yolo Squash is one of the best clubs he’s ever visited – with 6 excellent regular squash courts and a top-notch glass court located right in the club’s lounge area. As Tomi mentioned, this is the first squash center that includes everything you need, and now it’s our mission to further grow and develop squash in Estonia!

Tomi envisions Yolo Squash Club as more than just a local hub – he believes it has the potential to become an international squash destination, attracting players from both the Baltics and Scandinavia. He’s committed to making sure the club is filled with new faces—children and adults—who will come to try squash and enjoy the game so much that, despite the sweat, the smiles never fade. He assures us that the road ahead is long, but full of joy!
